DESIGNING WITH LIGHT
Transform your property with a Lighting Designer
WHY YOU NEED A LIGHTING DESIGNER
Whether you’re renovating a single room, or building your dream home - a lighting designer is essential.
As lighting designers, we create depth, add height, enhance texture and colour, inject dramatic highlights and build cosy corners. We use clever circuitry to allow quick switching from functional to atmospheric and we balance ambient and architectural layers of light to create a striking yet harmonious home. Our experts provide a creative lighting plan and with over 10,000 decorative designs at our finger tips, we source the perfect feature lights for all areas of your new space.
Get in touch today to discuss your project.
Lighting design is as much about mood, shape, shadow and control as it is about illumination.

The Process: Step 1 - Initial Consultation
- Having booked your initial consultation, we discuss your project with you over the phone to identify how our services can fit your needs. Talk through style ideas, inspiration, budget & timescale before arranging a site visit or for us to look further into your plans/drawings remotely.
-
Step 2 - Site Visit/Virtual Meeting
- After a successful initial consultation, your lighting designer will arrange to visit the property with you or set up a virtual meeting with the aim to formulate a design direction & put together a project brief. Here we’ll discuss furniture layouts, any kitchen fitter designs, joinery plans, architectural features, control options and timescales so that we leave with all the necessary information to start designing your custom lighting plan.
-
Step 3 - Lighting Design Proposal
- We meet again...typically 15-20 working days after the site visit/virtual meeting or from receipt of all the required information. This is the step that you’ve been waiting for; the lighting designer will arrange to meet you at the property to present you with your Lightbox Design Document; comprising of a detailed set of lighting and circuit plans for your room/property and a full quotation. The roadmap to ensuring your project reaches its full potential. We’ll talk you through your new lighting plan and can discuss any tweaks and changes before finalising.
-
Step 4 - Ordering & Actioning
- Now that your lighting plan has been presented, discussed and finalised, we get to work sourcing all of your new fittings. Our team will take your order and answer any technical questions you may have to ensure a smooth installation. Depending on your location, if requested, we can recommend the qualified electricians that we often partner with, who are familiar with our fittings and arrange for a quotation for installation. We strongly advise the use of an approved electrician to ensure an accurate & cleanly fitted installation.
-
Step 5 - Installation & Delivery
- You‘ve instructed the electricians, they have your new lighting plan and work is underway so whenever you are ready for the goods on site, we’ll be on hand to arrange delivery to you. Your bespoke lighting plan is everything the electrician will need to bring your scheme to reality and we are always happy to help and advise throughout the process. Please note that unless discussed and agreed in the initial consultation, we do not project manage/oversee the installation process and do not install the fittings ourselves.
-
Step 6 - Comissoning
- The electricians have finished their second fix and your installation is complete; and so we reach the final step. Your lighting designer will visit the site to ensure that the lighting is as designed, ensure all the lights are used and positioned correctly and help programme a control system if installed before signing off and leaving you to enjoy your new scheme.
